• About the Artist: Cynthia I. Noel was born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Her love of drawing and painting flourished very early in life and is self taught. Her style is inspired by the impressionists such as Manet, Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec. 
• About the Print: Chain rock with the light beacon was given its name because during both World Wars there was a boom strung across the narrows to Pancake Rock on the south side to keep out enemy ships and later a chain was added to keep out German submarines.
